The original holder of the callsign W4HOD was Carey M. Smoak, of Neeses, South Carolina. Carey was born in 1924 and died in1985.
When the Heart of Dixie ARS first obtained W4HOD as our club callsign, I was under the impression that Carey had been the only previous holder of the call. After further research, I discovered otherwise.
